The ingredients needed to make Pindi Chana Masala:

  1. {Take 2 cup of soaked and boiled chickpeas.
  2. {Take 2 of chopped onions.
  3. {Take 1 tbs of ginger and garlic paste.
  4. {Make ready 2 of green chillies.
  5. {Take 2 tbs of ginger julians.
  6. {Get to taste of Salt.
  7. {Make ready 1 of tea bag.
  8. {Get 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
  9. {Prepare 1 tsp of coriander seeds.
  10. {Make ready 1 of bay leaf.
  11. {Make ready 1 stick of cinnamon.
  12. {Get 2 of big cardamom.
  13. {Get 4 of dry red chillies.
  14. {Prepare 1 tsp of pomegranate seeds.
  15. {Prepare 1 tsp of chana masala.
  16. {Make ready 4 tbs of mustard oil.

What makes it special is freshly ground spices and ginger that brings in amazing flavour. This is often confused with the Amritsari chole. But these two chickpeas curries have a different preparation method and ingredients. Pindi Chana Masala is a famous dish from Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Steps to make Pindi Chana Masala:

  1. Boil overnight soaked chana with tea bag.
  2. Strain the water.
  3. Dry roast all the masalas except salt and make the powder.
  4. Heat oil in a iron kadhai.
  5. Put the ground powder masala.
  6. After 2 minutes add chana and stir well.
  7. Now add salt and 1cup chana water.
  8. Boil for 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with ginger julians.onion rings and green chillies.
  10. Serve with kulchas.

Made with Chickpeas and with base of tomato and onion gravy. Chana Masala is a very popular dish amongst North India and is served with Punjab's favorite breakfast Chana Bhatura.
