Unlike Pav Bhaji(that is medley of veggies), Misal Pav is made by using lentil sprouts in onion-tomato based curry. It is topped with some chopped onion, tomato, farsan, and lemon juice then served with Pav or Buns.

The ingredients needed to make Misal Pav:

  1. {Make ready of potatoes-.
  2. {Get of gobhi carrot, beans-.
  3. {Take of Palak–.
  4. {Prepare of Mint leaves-.
  5. {Get of Green chilli.
  6. {Prepare of tomatoes- [puree].
  7. {Get of pav bhaji masala–.
  8. {Take of onion chopped.
  9. {Prepare of ginger garlic paste-.
  10. {Prepare of butter or oil–.
  11. {Take of coriander leaves.
  12. {Get of garam masala-.

Misal pav is a popular dish from Maharashtra, India. It consists of misal (a spicy curry usually made from moth beans) and pav (a type of Indian bread roll). The final dish is topped with farsan or sev, onions, lemon and coriander (cilantro). It is usually served with bread or rolls toasted with butter and buttermilk or curd and papad.

Steps to make Misal Pav:

  1. Boil 4 large potatoes, 1/2 cup peas & 1/2 cup chopped carrots.
  2. Boil palak. Grind palak mint leaves and green chilli..
  3. .On a flat pan heat  75 gm  butter/ghee/oil and fry 2 chopped onions..
  4. . Add 2 chopped tomatoes or puree,Add 3 tsp of Pav bhaji masala and salt to taste..
  5. Garam masala for taste. Add little water and mix well..

Misal is a spicy curry made with mixed sprouts or moth beans (matki) and pav are buns (laadi pav). Misal is garnished with mix farsan (mix chiwda) on the top and also some topped with onion and tomatoes. Misal is made of various kinds and it differs from place to place. Misal Pav is a traditional Maharashtrian dish. Here dry sabzi is made from sprouted moth beans.
