Simple Way to Prepare Quick Vada pav

Vada pav. Vada pav, alternatively spelt wada pao, (listen) is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the state of Maharashtra. The dish consists of a deep fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun (pav) sliced almost in half through the middle. It is generally accompanied with one or more chutneys and a green chili pepper.

Vada pav, alternatively spelt wada pao, (listen) is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the state of Maharashtra. The dish consists of a deep fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun (pav) sliced almost in half through the middle. It is generally accompanied with one or more chutneys and a green chili pepper.

Vada pav is one of the most favored of current trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions daily. Vada pav is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few components. You can cook vada pav using 24 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Vada pav:

  1. {Take of For vada.
  2. {Prepare 8-9 of medium size potatoes boiled & mashed.
  3. {Take 2 tsp of garlic paste.
  4. {Make ready 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
  5. {Get 1 tsp of mustard seeds.
  6. {Take 8-10 of curry leaves.
  7. {Make ready 1 tsp of green chilli paste.
  8. {Get 1 pinch of Hing/asafoetida.
  9. {Take 3 tbsp of oil.
  10. {Get 1 tbsp of finely chopped coriander.
  11. {Prepare To taste of Salt.
  12. {Take of For the outer batter.
  13. {Get 1 cup of besan/gram flour.
  14. {Get To taste of Salt.
  15. {Prepare 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  16. {Prepare 2 tbsp of rice flour.
  17. {Prepare 1 tbsp of hot oil.
  18. {Take As needed of Oil for frying.
  19. {Prepare of For the red chutney.
  20. {Get 1 cup of salted boondhi.
  21. {Prepare 10-14 of garlic cloves.
  22. {Take 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
  23. {Prepare 2 tbsp of red chilli powder.
  24. {Prepare 1/2 tsp of salt.

It is basically a savory slider of fried mashed potato fritters stuffed in a dinner roll. It easy to make and serve. Vada Pao, Wada Pav, or Wada Pao is a budget-friendly and gratifying Indian Style Burger which hails from the streets of Mumbai. The origin of this sandwich is the Indian state of Maharashtra, but this street snack is widely popular across all parts of India.

Instructions to make Vada pav:

  1. In a pan heat oil, once the oil becomes hot, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, garlic paste, turmeric powder, hing and green chilli paste, sauté this for a minute, then add salt and boiled mashed potatoes. Mix well, add finely chopped coriander and set aside. Make small ball shape vadas once the mix is lukewarm..
  2. For the red chutney, in a mixture jar take garlic cloves, cumin seeds, salt and red chilli powder blend this into a semi coarse mix, now add the boondhi and crush it into a coarse chutney.This is your street style red chutney..
  3. Now to make besan batter in a bowl take besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, salt, add 1tbsp hot oil and water to make a semi thick batter, now dip the vadas in the batter and fry them in hot oil..
  4. Cut the pav, apply imli chutney & red chutney, place a vada in the centre, serve with more red chutney & green chilli..

This is the only vada pav you'll ever need to make your best vada pav at home. Vada = deep fried potato patties and pav = burger buns. You can say it's kind of a potato sandwich or burger but what makes it so special is all the chutneys that go with it! We went to Mumbai that year to celebrate new year. Vada pav recipe Mumbai vada pav is a snack made by sandwiching a batata vada in Pav or bun with a generous amount of chutneys smeared.
