The ingredients needed to make Pastry Samosa sheets:

  1. {Prepare of flour.
  2. {Prepare of Oil.
  3. {Take of Salt.
  4. {Take of Water.
  5. {Prepare of oil (for brushing).

Serve puff pastry samosa with chutney of your choice! Making the samosa pastry takes just very simple ingredients: flour, water, salt and oil (or ghee).

Instructions to make Pastry Samosa sheets:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together (Make sure to add little amount of water in order not to achieve a watery dough) except the oil for brushing and mould into a dough cover and allow to rest for 10mins.
  2. After 10mins bring the dough out and divide it into three balls equally.
  3. Take one and roll with a rolling pin like the picture below.
  4. Rub oil using pastry brush or your second right finger and then sprinkle some flour.
  5. .
  6. Roll the second dough and and place on top of the oiled and floured dough and rub oil on top then sprinkle some flour and then roll the third dough and place it on top of the second oiled and floured dough.
  7. And then sprinkle some flour on top and pinch the edges very well.
  8. Then roll them all together until they're very thin like the picture shown below.
  9. Place your frying pan on fire (Make sure it's non-sticky) then place the rolled thin dough on the pan until you observe swelling up just like the picture shown below.
  10. Divide into four equal sizes with sharp knife or cutter.
  11. Separate them from each other. For this recipe you will get 12sheets of samosa.

The oil (or ghee) is rubbed into the flour mix with your hands, until the mixture forms a crumbly, breadcrumb texture. Samosa wrappers are made from flour, water and a tiny bit of vegetable oil. Samosa filling is made from a mixture of vegetables (potato, green peas, carrots, onion, garlic, curry powder, and mixed spices) and/ or minced/ diced/ shredded meat (beef, chicken or ram meat).
